The sills are under attack by the front wheels of my DB9. At best theres an area of Road Rash, at worst (along the leading edge) the aluminium itself is under threat. Does anyone know a solution to this problem that may provide some protection and is it a case of Chipex for the light damage and a sill re-spray for the worst parts?

Thanks

Get the stone guards for DB9 from AM -- sort of like plastic mudflaps that don't look too bad depending on the colour of your car. Then paint protection film on the sills after you've sorted the paint.

Same on mine.
I'm considering putting a U-shaped black rubber strip on that area.
That's a pretty good solution for me (if done right) because mine is onyx black - not such a good solution for you unfortunately!

Any paint based solution is really not going to last.

Stone guards will go a long way to solving the problem. Which reminds me that I must get some.

Coz of the wide arches on the vantage the road rash hits badly there. Does the mudflaps/stone guards do much for protection against this?

Thanks everyone, I guess they must be a standard part from AM Dealers. Does paint protection film come from the same place?

I bought a set of the black plastic stoneguards for my DB 9.2 but they don't fit (though they do fit the 9.1)
If anyone coming to the Macc meeting on 26th is interested they are yours at cost; else I have to send them back for a refund (when I can ever get round to it LOL)
