BMW got stolen on Monday, so need to get the 400 roadworthy this weekend.

I have a rattle that comes from the clutch when I depress my pedal fully. It doesn't happen at idle, but only when there's a few extra revs. It doesn't happen when the clutch pedal is up, regardless of revs.

However, if I pump the pedal it does stop for a while.

This sounds like the thrust bearing, right?

Is it knackered, or could it just need bleeding? Just trying to work out my list of jobs to do this weekend and save as much time as possible.

Should I just man up and get the whole clutch gubbins changed?

Many thanks,
Chris

What about neutral ?

Is it really just when fully pressed ? - I only really ever do that whiles starting...

Bleeding is a trivial exercise and takes 10 minutes ...

Does it with the gearbox in any position, as long as the pedal is fully down. If I pump the pedal it goes away for a bit. I'm going to look at fluid levels later. Many thanks
