Trackday tyres
Discussion
I want to buy a set of road legal trackday tyres ,I`m aware of the tyres having square shoulders .currently on Falkens 245/40/17 and 225/454/16,no rubbing but both are tight, the square shoulders my cause them to rub .
Do go down a size or chance it ,another problem is there will less rubber on the road which is not a good thing ..

That's probably why your rears were rubbing .Standard setup on my car
205/55/16 605mm diameter
225/50/16 628 diameter
R888 215/45/17 624 diameter 216 width
235/40/18 648 diameter 244 width
If I fitted those R888`s on my car they would hit the outriggers due o the massive difference in diameter.

I bought the wheels and tyres as a job lot off someone else's Chim. They didn't rub on his, but I did have issues with some narrower tyres rubbing.
Eventually, when I was also complaining about constantly clanging the exhaust and anti-roll bar on bumps, the penny dropped and we checked the ride height. My rear was over an inch too low. Adjusted it, no more problems, and the car handles better
