How glitchy are TT's?

I keep reading reviews of Tom Tom products moaning about glitches.

I'm keen to upgrade my 4-5 year old Garmin Nuvi to a decent TT as I drive a lot now and would benefit from the Live Traffic services, but I really don't want to invest in a product that lets me down a lot.

Is it just the usual bad net reviews, or is there some general widespread issues with software glitches for Tom Tom? My Garmin has been pretty much flawless in terms of reliability, even just bundled in the car all year round.

I've had TomToms for a long time now 540 Live for many years and the new 1005 for at least 6 months. I've only ever had problems with not being able to connect to Google search a few times.

You'll have problems connecting to Google Search on a TomTom now, it's been replaced.

Yes you are right had to do a local search today it was just as good/quick and you get contact details and directions just as before.
