Buy at end of lease

Talking with BMW, they said that they will give you the option to buy the car at the end of contract hire. The price is normally what they would expect to get from auction. Anyone have experience of this? Could be a good deal..

Just about to end a 23 month lease on my m3 - I don't want to buy as am collecting a c63 in September but asked BMW for a buy price on my m3 - 14,400 miles, 2011 M3 - DCT, 19s plus a host of options, they said 38k.

So you can buy it back but to be honest I could buy the same spec car from a main dealer for cheaper than 38k.
