I saw this on the BBC website and thought this should be good.
But not one of them had the WOW! factor for me. After seeing the excellent shots posted by you guys on here have I been spoilt?

i think it partly to do with the fact the subject matters on this board are more in tune with your own favourites.

I do think that this forum is an excellant idea though. I have seen some truly superb photography on here and its helped me fine tune some of my shots as I have learnt from others.

I think if you take in to account the fact that those shots would be almost impossible to recreate then they become much more than just a good photo.

almost all the pics i have seen on here are brilliant but a lot are recreateable or staged, the ones in the wildlife comp are literally capturing a moment which would be extremely difficult to recreate/stage. I would need a very long lens to take a photo of 2 feeding bull sharks

I like them a lot. Top 3 especially. Wildlife is fecking difficult... you've got to be patient and quick. I am neither which is a shame.

Good points folks but still while I think they are good shots they don't grab me - I don't know what it is but they only have a hmmm that's nice factor (wish I could have taken any one of them though).
Phil I take your point about the bias of the forum but to be honest while I do like the car photo's, nature are the ones that do it for me.
I'd have any of Getcarters pics on my wall - especially the last lot of the mist in the lakes, and the recent shot of the wasp licking it's arse is far better than any of those on the BBC site. I mean you can't get a wasp to pose like that can you?
