Every version of a spicy food from Asda is blow your brain hot, even when the dish is meant to be subtle, whereas say Sainsbury's food is often much less spicy.
So what about others? and is there a regional variation?
I'd imagine that supermarket curries are all made under contract - possibly by the same manufacturer - but just to different specifications.
I'll admit to (once) having bought an Asda ready meal curry. The meat was rank, and scarce, as expected at the Asda price point, but the spicing pretty good.

I've noticed something similar; a Rogan Josh (for example) from Asda at Fosse Park (Leicester) is markedly different from the same-name version from an Asda store anywhere in my native North-East.
Much hotter and more tasty, and a greater variety of curries and starters in the Midlands than anywhere else.
I have long suspected that the suppliers are very local to the stores.
