Hey

I am looking and thinking about completing a vehicle wrap on an M12. Clearly this will be done by a professional company. However I am curious if anyone else on here as had it done and because the car is fibreglass suffered any problems when then removing it later down the line?

The thing is a Noble M12 has come up which I am very keen to buy, hopefully this week, the specification, the service history, its been perfectly looked after and its an amazing example of an M12. However I am not keen on the colour so a simple fix would be to wrap it!

Any thoughts?

I had mine wrapped a couple of years ago and just had it removed. Needed a full re-spray after. Also it looked a bit tatty up close after not too long. Definitely a 'never again' experience!

Get it resprayed by Jetstream, wraps don't look great up close, it will look brilliant when it comes out of Jetstream.

There are wraps and then there are wraps, the materials seem to fall into the 'get what you pay for' scenario. Also wrapping pretty straight panels works well as there aren't many complicated angles to have the stretch around and there's rarely a need to have to lose a join where you'd otherwise be forced to overlap. The Noble has two huge complicated pieces that just won't take a wrap without looking like you've had it wrapped - which is obviously what you're trying to achieve. Price up a respray would be my opinion.

I've had mine wrapped for 2 years and its been very good , does not chip like paint , will not scratch and is very easy to repaire if you get a damaged section . It also cost a fraction of a re-spray , mine cost £1500 all in when I was getting quotes for 5k plus to repainted .
I used The Signteam to wrapp mine and I do agree there are different levels if quality so chose carefully . Many people see my car at shows and never realize it is a wrapp although I will admit its not a concourse paint finish but after 4500 miles this year I'm pretty sure if it was paint it would look pretty battered .

A wrap is great from >5 ffeet away, but never that great up close IMO, they also get damaged or come away in places very quickly and need maintenance, join lines go black etc.

As mentioned there is also a very high risk on a noble that upon removal the paint will also come away as its fibreglass so they are never as robust as factory metal finished ime so need to consider that, you will also need to prep dodgy areas in your existing paint prior to it being applied or it will come through and be more visible in the wrap and look far worse.

You may have guessed I'm not a fan at all of wrapping complete cars, yes a good paint job will cost 3k ish, however people have got them done for less and got better finishes than wraps.

On the plus side there are some simply stunning colours and finishes available in wraps and they are relatively cheap... Maybe a set of stripes or something similar would make you like it more?

Hey

Thanks for the feedback. So far everyone is not amazingly in favor of the wraps!

The car is Titanium silver and to be honest I want it white with black wheels for a proper race car look. There is a thread on here a few down of someone's M12 in white and I think it looks simply amazing.

I may have to get some re-spray prices together as well

I've got a titanium silver car, love it, other than two of the blues I'd say its the next best colour out there.

In my opinion the white doesn't do the car any favours, certainly won't make it look any more racey, just more max power. Each to there own though.

Best of luck with the car purchase

I've had mine wrapped recently and very happy with the outcome.

When shopping around for wrapping it was clear you really do get what you pay for.

Hey. I do know what you mean, I am just trying to make it shout as loud as possible.
Because its going to become my demo car for the business (GSM Performance) I want it to grab attention.
Will have to really think about it when I get it.

Have you tried asking some wrap companies for a quote for a wrap with a full livery? Give them some rough ideas of a design and the company name/colours etc and see what they come up with.
