Hi all!
Does anyone know where I can get an ECU Eprom from? Preferably one that is set up for Linked decats, with standard cooling fan settings.
The reason is that I have an Eprom with the 84 degree switch on, however it is causing issues with cooling, in that the fans are being called to run before the thermostat opens, so I have a hot engine, cold radiator with fans running.
Initially, I thought the problem was with the thermostat, which I replaced today. The fans will switch on, cooling the rad to around 25 degrees, however, the fans continue to run all the time as the cooling fan switch on point is at 84 degrees, and the stat does not open until 86 degrees.
Fans run all the time, in traffic, and up to speeds of 50 or so, when there is enough airflow to cool everything down again. I have fitted a couple of LEDs in the front face of the ashtray, so that I know when the fans are running.
I have fitted an SPA gauge a few months ago which is accurate to within a degree or so of the coolant temp(checked with IR gauge) and reads within 5 degrees of the ECU sensor.
Apologies for the rambling post, hope it makes sense to someone who can help.
