Just got back from a fab week touring France with some fellow TVR owners, however on Thursday we popped into Annecy for lunch and came back to find the rear window on the Sag had been popped along with the side window of a Tuscan.
Totally Gutted and felt really sick on seeing this, been going to France for several years in TVR's and I guess we just got to complacent stupidly thinking crime does not happen in France!

OMG I would be in tears, hopefully just needs a new window an nothing else was damaged/stolen. I can imagine it could of been a lot worse so you just have to look at it that way.

Sorry but being run over is too good for c***s like that, an hour a week in a locked room with the people who's hard earned property they damage and steal would be much better. Hope not too much damage was done or stuff taken and that the Sag is soon fixed.

Sorry to hear this as well, but on the bright side it is only a back window and nothing worse. Just an insurance job.

Hope they didn't get anything too valuable.

Hope it gets sorted out ok.

Gutted for you. What is wrong with people? The main worry when leaving the sag anywhere is the exposed rear boot / hatch - I know it has the cover but to me, if you pull the cover across then people know there is something worth hiding underneath!

Again, gutted for you.

As I've said many times before, time to invade France and banish the French to Rotherham...

Thanks for all your kind words and support, rear screens (£860+vat)can still be obtained thankfully but they are rare!

Paintwork has suffered due to all the shattered glass over the rear quarter, we tried to clear it the best way we could but small scratches and chips remain frown Front end had just been done in April by S&D so it looks like the rear quarter will have to be done as well now.

Couple of bags taken, one full of my wife's shoes leaving her just the one pair for the rest of the trip and
the other was her make-up/toiletry bag which meant overall getting ready in the evenings was a whizz!
Also had a nice watch and ring taken which were in the bags.
Camera's & tablet's were with us but you can't take everything with you, I just will not take anything for granted anymore.
By the way the Tuscan had black screens/side windows but they still smashed it so they could have a look.
They got away with another bag for their car, along with Passports making it a worrying time at passport control.
Hopefully getting the new screen this week but not sure if I should get it fully tinted so you can't see in along with the side windows as next time they may just smash it again to see what's there!

bds.

At least the screen is available.

Never had any problems like this in France. Normally they love seeing TVRs.

Yeah, that's how we had to judge it after getting to the police and filling in the mountain of forms, it could have been worse!
Big thanks to Sagi Badger who was with us, I think he was almost as gutted as me! His quick thinking got us some tape and plastic so we could at least get them covered at night, thankfully all the places we were staying in were secure and the weather was perfect!

Rob,

Just felt sick again seeing the pic. Really shocked me, not normally lost for words..., but this silenced me.

All, we choose the places we park and I am really mega careful, to the extent that I make sure we park to the side of the parking bays and keep the cars close together to allow space for the regular motorists. I look for overlooked and busy places and for areas without escape routes for scoundrels who do this kind of stuff. For once, and I wish I hadn't, I didn't really pay full attention. We were in the Elise and I am a bit more relaxed with this, hence no paranoid checks and quite likely a failure on my part contributed to this.

An earlier post refers to the French loving TVRs, they do, but so do the thieves and they are only ever five minutes away.

Take care all and don't be put off touring just be careful and leave nothing, absolutely nothing, on show.
