Hi iv been thinking about fitting a roll bar to my mk2 mx5 for a while now but they're fairly expensive and i think i could make one myself alot cheaper so I was wondering weather anyone has ever built a home made one them selfs and if so how hard was it and what matireal did you use. Iv got access to the tools and machinery you need to do the job and some good material suppliers at hand.

I juse need someone that can help with dimensions angles and measurements. I would be massively thankful.

Cheers guys

I think this design is slightly better

but alot of hassle making one, for the money they are asking I would just buy one.

I wouldnt go near that one myself.

If the OP really wants to be safer look at the regs in the Blue Book for roll over protection and design it accordingly or buy one that gets as close as possible to that: http://www.msauk.org/site/cms/contentviewarticle.a...

Are these yours? You seem to be doing the exact same advertising on mx5nutz.

No they are not mine. I think I was one of the first to take a chance on one though. Sadly the add doesn't read that well and photos don't do it justice having good experience of mx5s and rollbars I feel slightly sorry for the guy when has had a batch of very well designed rollbars made and is now struggling to sell them due to alot of negative factually incorrect comments from others who haven't even seen them.

How do you know that he's struggling? Just because of a few reviews on nutz?
