Hi all,

Over winter i'm looking to retrofit the dual oil pressure/oil temperature gauge that was the factory option, at the same time that i fit a track day sump.

Spoken to jetstream today and they tell me that its a dual mechanical gauge, i.e there is one oil pressure line to the back of the gauge, and an oil temperature line to the back of the gauge.
My previous experiance has only ever been that there is a mechanical oil line for pressure, and a electrical sensor for temperature.

Anyway, i'm not adverse to fitting the dual mechanical gauge, but i have some questions to those that have fitted one-

1) I want to plumb the temp sender into the oil pressure switch location, and relocate the oil pressure switch. Where can i relocate the oil pressure switch to?
2) Currently, the four gauges behind the wheel, i have from left to right, oil pressure, speedo, revs, water temp. I'd like to get the oil pressure/temp gauge in the same location, is there enough piping to get to that location? I believe the oil temp line cannot be altered in length?
3) Anyone any issues/features/gripes with the OEM dual mechanical gauge? Its alot of coin (roughly £230) for the gauge and all the wiring, SPA or similar teritory, which obviously don't match the standard gauges.

Thanks

Matt

Don't waste your time, the gauges are wildly inaccurate and it really is a pig of a job.

Fit a good quality electronic gauge and senders.

1) not a clue about re-locating sensors as mine are all in standard location.

2) from left to right I have (on centre panel, boost, duel oil temp/pressure) then water temp, speedo, revs, fuel.

3) the gauges are reliable and seem to be accurate enough. Even if the oil temp sensor location is not ideal as standard. Fitting it is a nightmare though, the bulb that screws into the sump cannot be disconnected from the gauge so must be fed down the back of the dash into the tunnel and back to the engine bay, there is very restricted access to the tunnel and you will bleed when battling with several other hoses and sharp things.

Had to replace it because a friend cut the metal sender wire thinking it could be reconnected when the engine went back in, nope.

Best of luck.

Excellent information thanks, it is however putting me off the idea rapidly.

I wanted the additional indication without putting a gauge in that does not match, if i have/should change to a different dial face, i'm not sure i want to do it anymore.

Thanks

You can buy matching seperate electrical oil temperature & pressure gauges, only difference is they won't have the Noble logo.

This how mine was sometime ago !

You may be able to get a noble badged gauge from somewhere like jetstream
