Popping down to Lower Slaughter on Sunday for a night out for an early 50th present. 160mile each way should help run in my new gearbox. smile

Nice. We have a place a few miles away. Some particularly good driving roads, perfect for Tivs. Enjoy.

If its only a short visit then break off the motorway early and plan a cross country expedition.

Yes just a one night stay at the lower slaughter manor. I'm taking the m6, m5 route down to give the new box a spin and then a bit of easy cross country on the way back.

If you exit the M5 at J9 and cut across to Toddington then Guiting you'll arrive at the back of the Slaughters. It'll give you a nice little cross country run at the end of all that motorway. The A roads are mostly old Roman roads, especially the 44, 46, 40 and 429 so are too straight for any remotely legal enjoyment in a Tiv.

Very nice hotel. A good ice cream shop down by the ford smile

Ice cream smile

Looking forward to the drive down and running around the Cotswolds. Cannot think of a better way to use up 500 miles before its oil change.

Now what oil to use lol.

Should be arriving around lunch time fingers crossed so looking for a nice TVR friendly light lunch stop prior to landing at the manor with 4.5 of pure Blackpool rock. I'm sure I'm going to rattle the gentle setting but one has to do what one has to do smile

My chimp was a frequent visitor. My parents sold to victor gauntlet of Aston Martin and so they were suddenly inundated with a huge collection of noisey am's in the area.

The Hollow Bottom in Guiting Power. Perfect little pub. I'd book in advance though as it is holiday season.

Does sound nice I admit but its 160 miles one way so would like to make the most of the area in the short time we have.

Just back from a 100 mile test drive prior to Sunday and the only fault after the new gearbox and air/water breather is my bloody clocks not working smile

Arrived at Lower Slaughter Manor without an itch. Now if only this bloody Bentley would shift I could park my car to the front.

MIL lives Winchcombe. Whenever I see the Slaughters can't help but think of American Werewolf in London.

Two points for remembering the car the doctor drove? biggrin

BGT rubber bumper. So I guess it would have been a 1976 or thereabouts model.

The slaughtered lamb was the pub smile

This is a serious car spotters place. Early 30s Bentley, astons, masser, porkers and right outside TVR wink

Ice cream shop looks good.
