New owner - question on DB7 rarity
Discussion
Hi all
Well, after a few false starts, I have finally obtained my first Aston Martin. Needless to say I am beside myself with excitement.
I am wondering if anyone knows the production figures for a V12 DB7 Vantage Coupe with a manual 6-speed box relative to the other derivatives. The seller stressed
that this is relatively rare car. Its "rarity" was certainly not a buying factor but it would be nice to know if it is actually quite an interesting car as well as being drop-dead gorgeous.
Attached is a couple of shots of my new pride and joy.
Kind regards to all
Adrian

Thanks Agent
Yes, well-spotted, Mendip blue. It looks great with the cream leather.
Sadly will not be able to make any meetings this weekend but looking forward to getting involved in the community (had great fun at meetings and met some truly lovely peeps while we had TVRs).
Hang in there Sparks...if you dream hard enough it is amazing what happens.

That is a great looking car, especially with the 19inch alloys. The figure of about 700 sounds right. I have a mendip blue manual too. Great fun to drive!
Really don't see many on the road nowadays and your colour combination will always get a fair bit of attention. Great buy (but then I'm biased).
Now you can think about getting a sports exhaust fitted
Enjoy!

Your Lordship
I totally agree. I love the new Astons but what is the fascination with variations of sludge? I have always disliked dark interiors too (although I can appreciate the practicality)
The colours was a significant element in deciding on this car, that and the full Aston history and the condition. Allegedly, this car has never been driven in the rain which prompted Murray Aston Martin Edinburgh to state that "it is the best DB7 they have seen in years".
Cannot guarantee its totally dry driving will continue though

Congratulations, you have yourself a beautiful looking car Adrian, and in a wonderful colour scheme.
I know little about the Bloxham cars, but noting the 420 bhp engine (the same as the current V8s), it is presumably a lighter car and so therefore faster.
I came across a DB7 website. You may already know about this, but if not, it might be of interest to you.

Enjoy your car.

Another question for you.......
What are the main differences between the DB7 and the DB7 Vantage?
Did they every run concurrently?
Many thanks
Adrian
Engine obviously. Front nose most visible difference. What are the main differences between the DB7 and the DB7 Vantage?
Did they every run concurrently?

Adrian
They were listed concurrently but most evidence points to no i6s being made after the first DB7 Vantage; attributed to the change in the production line necessary for the latter.
