We’re having a re-hash of our listening and watching equipment. I'm about to buy a new TV and as it will be modern slim line, I expect to need some audio assistance with it. At the same time, we now realise that our old separates music system is pretty bulky.

We don’t watch films, the TV is mostly used for drama, documentaries, and music programmes. The radio is for R4, and 6Music most of the time.

Richer Sounds sell the Denon DB39 (mini system – excluding speakers) for £200. This has 2 X 30w RMS output with additional pre out for active sub. It also has DAB/FM radio and optical audio input.

So; I'm thinking of running the Denon into a 10” active sub, with a pair of MS10s that I have.

Then I should have a 1 box DAB radio/CD player with 2.1 enhancement for the TV audio.

As the MS10s will be the only old parts of the system, and they are 8ohm; will they work OK with the Denon?

As you can tell, I'm not an audiophile (not to be confused in any way with my namesake who produces rather excellent studio electronics!) and there’s no point in spending beer money on high end stuff.

That's interesting - for the internet radio and a bit more power. airplay is no use to me though.
