Hi guys,

It looks like my lower steering UJ is toast. Unfortunately somebody has previously welded it on, which makes replacement a bit tricky.

It's a 1986 350i, so I think that makes it a TR7 based one.

If anybody has a spare one of these around, I will happily exchange beer tokens for it. To make it tricky, I'm afraid that I also need it by friday as I've got a eurotrip planned for next week with it.

Thanks,
Chris

If it's the column with rake and reach adjustment and the main lights switch on the lower left, it's an SD1 column... probably easier to find than the TR7 item.

Where in london are you?
I have the uj that connects to the rack, and the uj at the other end with the bar in between!

Its in Kent, Gravesend area, but Im up in Norfolk, not due to return till Friday, but I might be able to sort something out if you can collect one evening?

Ah bugger, I should update my profile. I live down in plymouth now! frown

And yea, I think you're right, it could be the SD1, although I never knew it had adjustable reach!

Slacken the clamp knob and you can lift, lower, pull and push to your heart's content biggrin

I have found that in certain positions the indicator stalk can foul on the radio console so the indicators don't cancel; that's what prompted my custom alloy stalks - and speaking of which I've sourced a new design of pushbutton for the next ones, that's easier to hit and takes less fingertip force to operate biggrin
