I am off to the Eurozone for a 1200 mile blast tomorrow, and at a manly 15st+ and with a double D roadsports cage fitted, I wonder how, without thumping my passenger in the chops or cracking a Tillet by standing on it, I can staisfy the stupid French and Belgian law.

I'd say its impossible.

Is this post to ridicule the French law or yourself for not being able to work out that you get out of the car and then put it on . . . The law says you have to carry it in the cockpit of the car, not sure it says you have to put it on before you get out?

It's actually one of their more reasonable laws, especially when you're on the side of an autoroute. It's one that the French themselves actually choose to follow and that's saying something.

Surely it's as simple as stand on the seat (carefully and not on the edge)which you have to do anyway, put hi-vis on, jump out of car.....

one option is to put it on before you get in the car ?, you could also stop every 400m and place a triangle in case you breakdown 😋🐏😍

Strange one, if you have to have it in the cockpit as you are not allowed to retrieve it from the boot, surely you must have it on before exiting the car?
wearing it shouldn't clash with your bonnet stripe. lol

Yes, you must put it on before getting out of the car. Cracking Tillets or not, this would include emerging via the roll cage.

Here's an idea....

Hang it over the back of your seat so that it's already the correct way around as if you were wearing it.

Then all you need to do is slot your arms into it and job done!
