63 Plates!

Hi,

I know that these plates arn't released to the public until 1st September but after seeing my first one today - on trade plates at a petrol station - I thought I would start a topic for those individuals that are eagerly awaiting their new car, or those who enjoy spotting the new plates in those first few weeks..

The car I spotted was actually a van, a Ford Transit.

I'm eagerly awaiting a grey diesel Astra.

Not sure exactly when I'll get it though as apparently they can't register it until September? Then I have to sort out a slot to collect it.

I'm awaiting a Prius, just wanted to check if I am allowed in this thread

7-seat version in black. Hoping to collect it as close to 1 September as possible (if not on the day).

Question - what happens with the V5? Do you get it on the day along with the car, or do you have to wait for DVLA or the dealer to post it to you?

saw 2 brand new gritters being driven up the A1 yesterday, both 63 plates. Not your normal new plate spot.

It will come direct from the DVLA a week or two after the car was registered.

Another point worth mentioning is that on a new car the tax disc is now done at DVLA, and not the dealer. So most new cars are delivered without a tax disc, they tend to come 2-3 days later.
