Happened upon a place in San Francisco today who have a number of nice watches. Wondering how much to pay for a sea dweller? http://www.seregins.com/products-rolex-men.html
They have one, might make an offer....?!

Depends on the year...I think a 20-30 year old SD can cost circa £3k. Pushing up to circa £5000 for the late 2000s models.

What year is this one and how much?

More like the other way around 25+ years old would make it a triple 6 sea dweller, costing around £7k+, 30+ years would make one it a 1665, costing £9k+.
Vintage is in!

A 666 would be epic, matte dial and plexi, Ive recently bought an original, 94 SD boxed with papers all original Trituim 16600 for around 4k
Looking at that website, the awesome gilt dial GMT they have, its going to be a rarer and pretty expensive Vintage SD.

I reckon around GBP4000 - 4,500 for a 16600 model, which was the last model before they made the Deep Sea. That model had sapphire glass.

As mentioned above, some of the older models are considerably more expensive, specially the "Red" models.

A lovely watch and a solid investment IMO.

The 16600 came with a watch tool in a green leather case, and an anchor, so look out for those.

Looks about right.

OP - Don't forget the VAT if importing from the States

How do you tell the difference between these two? Is Lum and tritium easy to tell apart or did it change over at a certain year?
What would a late 2000's model SD be?

An original Trit dial will have

Swiss - T <25 at the bottom of the dial.

If its had a service replacement or is not a Trit it will have Swiss or Swiss made.

What do you think about a 16660 with 'Swiss Made' at the six o'clock mark? I understood all of the 16660's had either Swiss T<25 or just 'Swiss'
A local reputable jeweler has one with Swiss made on it, he swears it is the original dial.. (I've been a watchmaker for 25 years... ect)

I'm quite interested but I think the dial is from a later watch...
Any thoughts?
