Last night I cut out the rotten piece of outrigger tube (about 6")so have made a nice clean cut back to good strong tube but once the cut was made the tube was rotten on the inside! so no matter how much powder coating, waxoyling,hammeriting you do on the chassis it looks like condensation collects inside the tubes which then starts the rotting process!
Like my title say's sorry if I'm stating the obvious but from the outside the chassis tube looked like new but once I had made the cut the inside was rotten as a pear which I was not expecting.
If I was in the position (and I'm not) to have a new chassis fabricated I would drill holes in all the chassis sections / tubes then put one of those Waxoyl tubes inside and then pump in loads of waxoyl, once done either plug the hole with a bung or weld it back up.
Off to a metal supplier today to buy some tube and plate!!

I suspect the tops of the outriggers at the front outer body mount position have been rotten for some time and been letting the water in. This is were they tend to go first.

Not lifted the body as of yet although have loosend the bolts that go through the floor and seat belt mounts which gave me enough flex to peek a look, the outriggers were replaced prior to my purchase 4 years ago.
The plastic pipe should last!! just a template
