Porsche centre Cardiff - The OPC with OCD
Discussion
Yes cardiff OPC are very much on the ball.
As both Ferrari and Porsche customers for over 10 years we been purchasing vehicles from Lovett's which is now Cardiff OPC and their attention to their customers needs is second to none.
As you rightly said Martin Wright is very much on top of his game and nothing is too much trouble.
Kristian is a new part of the team but is already up to speed.
When we deal with other premium brand manufacturers dealerships we realise just how good Cardiff OPC actually is.

I bought my GTS from them in November, I part ex'ed my Cayman R. We both took each other at our word as I live in York. The car was delivered and it was perfect and they took mine away. Totally pain free. They called afterwards a couple of times to see how I was getting on. A very nice crowd and I would not hesitate to buy another car from them.

I've used Cardiff twice, you won't see me wasting my time there again. Really don't understand the word customer satisfaction.
Care to elaborate?I'm with the other crowd here, nothing but praise for them. Tina was an immense help when I was buying my 987 privately, spending ages on the phone to me answering my questions & checking out the history of the car. In fact I was so impressed by her service that I decided to book my car in with them for some work even though OPC Bristol were more convenient & closer.
Work was done to my satisfaction & like the original poster I too am very fussy about who I leave my car with. The technician showed me around the car & also the restoration project they had on the go. Finally the bill was less than expected, I even was allowed to take a new 981 out for a drive even though I was waiting for the work to be done on my car.
I would quite happily recommend them.

Yes agree with you there, went to view a white gt3 with a mate, meet a sales person with a massive little man syndrome who was totally rude to both of us,treated us like time wasters even though we both own Porsche's. We have bought several Porsche's from dick Lovett's Bristol who are a far better dealership.
Bought my 981 from them. It was a toss up between Reading and Cardiff. Used both previously,, although Cardiff was just for a second hand Spyder.
When I'd bought the Cayman from Reading on delivery day I got flowers, voucher for porsche shop and a spa at Stoke Poges. Mentioned this to Cardiff guy before placing the order and promises of we will look after you better.
Bear in mind I paid full up for the 981, so they were not down to a negative profit margin.
On pick up day, the sales guy who promised to pick my daughter and myself up from the station was too busy with another customer, even though I had booked thr train a few days earlier. Left to make my own way. Car was in the secondhand hand over bay and their version of being looked after was a spare key ring! Obviously got asked to give them 10 out of 10 if Porsche phoned up. Additionally during the wait for thr car it was like pulling teeth to get an update on where the car was. Other new 981 owners were getting a whole heap more info.
Sales guy left shortly afterwards. Wrote a complaint that took nearly three weeks to admit I didn't get great treatment. Their idea of making up to me was to ask if I wanted the flowers and £20 voucher I should of got! Said I would be ok without the flowers but do what they can on a voucher. Overjoyed to see a £20 voucher as my prize for dealing with them!!
They are certainly not the listening dealership. I would of been much better off sticking with Reading. I'm now looking for my next Porsche and Cardiff is not getting a call.

Funny old world - yours mirrors my exact opposite experience. I found Reading sales team totally inept and slightly 'nose in the air'.
Cardiff team could not of been more different - a complete pleasure. I guess best method is get familiar with one or two persons build up a relationship which should serve you (and them)well in the future..

i part-ex my CR for my current 7.2 RS. good crowd to deal with.
I don't require great service but i need honest and upfront service. Everyone needs to make a living and Porsche ain't a budget brand.
Flowers and vouchers... do you really care? wow
so far, my experience with OPCs are that they may vary in service levels and pricing but everyone has been upfront and honest. when someone sells me a crashed damaged car and/or bills me for work i don't need (ie dishonesty) then I get pissed off. But that's why we stick with OPCs, they are supervised by Porsche and have a reputation to maintain. But then so do the respectable indies. IMO, the ancillary benefits are of no importance.

No I don't care about about flowers, but as other buyers at the time were getting an extra experience day for their partners I would of appreciated something a little better. When an OPC makes a promise to deliver a better experience than another one then they should deliver. When they then don't deliver and you complain you would expect something better than £20. Still they had my money and that's all they seem to care about.
