Cosmetic wheel repair
Discussion
My wheels are powder-coated, and yesterday I let one fall face first on to the drive, which has scraped the crap out of it. Many swearwords were heard drifting across my neighbourhood when that happened!
Anyone know a place in the North West (as close to Congleton as possible!) that could repair this?
Are they likely to be able to colour match, so I only have to have the one repaired?

There's a couple of factors to take into consideration, First its never straight forward paint repairing a powder coated wheel, its best (if you know who originally powder coated them), to go back to them.
At worst your goanna have to have the two on the same side done, at best he will still be using the same supplier for powder and be able to 100% colour match it.

Get the damaged one repaired - put it on and then if you think it doesn't quite match the other one on the same side get that one done in the same colour.
Who's going to notice that two on one side are a slightly different shade from the two on the other side
But then you could get the second one done and it doesn't match the damaged one that has been repaired. I would get both done at the same time Who's going to notice that two on one side are a slightly different shade from the two on the other side

I think these have been powder coated. They were never available in this colour anyway. And now they have audi TT white and missing chunks of paint. (And no the bugger will not admit it and CCTV apparently shows the parking space was empty all day...so apparently the audi TT fairy did it...and messed up their bumper on the same day).
Anyway I too will be going on the "paint match this if you can" journey.
Oh joy.
Paint matching really isn't that difficult for wheels .... (unless you've got some real specialst jobbie done with a load of glitter in them) .... if you can find someone that has 'colour chips'.
Think about going to yer local B&Q they have a whole heap of 'colour cards' so you can match the the colour of yer sofa and paint yer walls the same colour. In the motor industry these cards are called called 'colour chips' and a decent sprayshop might have 40,000+ different colours in their colour chip box.
Out of that amount of colours there's bound to be one that matches - if there isn't one that matches ecactly then a good place should be able to 'adjust' the nearest colour to give a match.
In short colour matching a wheel is a whole lot easier than colour matching say a door, or a wing, or a bonnet.
