Hi all,

I'm after a bit of advice. I have just picked up a 3.0 M3 with aftermarket BBS RK alloys (8" wide). As I live in Dubai and there aren't any garages that stock my preferred 235/40/17 set up (all four wheels). I can only get the following tyres.

225/45/17
235/45/17
245/40/17

I want to run all 4 tyres in the same size so I can rotate for the track. The car isn't yet lowerd but soon will be on coilovers, so I want to avoid rubbing.

Thanks

17s are much better suited to the E36 and look nicer. 18s elevate the car too much and make the CoG too high.

Mixed views here! I ran 235's all round based on rotating them. I remember my first E36 M3 road car in the 90's ran the optional staggered set up with 245's at the rear and 225's up front. I think the standard 17" sunflower wheels were 235 all round?

Thanks guys. Ideally I'd run 235/40 all round but they're not available out here. Went for 235/45's in the end as i just needed sonething on it to get it registered (fresh hap import). I know the profile is too high but they were dirt cheap and when I get my track wheels and coilovers I can always use them just on the rear for drifting. Will get 235/40's imported when the car starts to take shape

I'm running 235/45/17 Federal FZ-201's all around on my 7.5j and 8.5j wheels.
Not really a normal thing to do but I can confirm it works really well.
I too would have had the 235/40's but couldn't get any at the time
