Hi

I want to buy some 1:18 scale cars, anyone have any tips on where I can buy from, tried ebay.

Previously bought some from modelzone, and a guy selling some on PH classifieds, not looking for expensive ones, just some around the £10-30 mark to put in the home office.

Model fairs, on here & eBay is about it now. Not many shops around sell them no ModelZone is going.

Not to keen on ebay as the postage seems to be extortionate

1/18 Scale Car pics/discussion thread.

Most of mine are from ebay to be honest, there aren't that many model/toy stores kicking around anymore in my locality. If I'm in places like Tesco or TKMaxx they occasionally have cheaper Maisto models of some sort.

Otherwise online, https://ck-modelcars.de/en/eur/ or https://ck-modelcars.de/en/eur/ (but these are more pricey)

I also get models from Otto Mobile: http://www.otto-models.com/index.php/en (resin models around £50).

For the cheaper ones, I think ebay would be your best bet. If you are willing to put some time in, you can find models that go for very little, I agree that postage can seem expensive though. You should be able to get plenty of decent stuff for <£30 per model.

That's because it costs between £8 to £9 to post 1 1/18 scale car by rip off Royal Mail.

Very much depends on what you want at that price, if you are ok with seond hand then you will find a few bargains from private sellers on ebay.

Otherwise if you want new stuff then you are probably best looking at Maisto / Burago / Welly and maybe one or two others but depends on what sort of cars you are looking for.

I'd like to get into model-making and am looking for a 1/18 or 1/24 kit, possibly of an everyday uk car such as a 1970s Escort or Capri, etc, etc, or a 60s / 70s rally car.

Kit must be excellent quality as I won't want to do it if it looks rubbish. Price not important, I don't mind paying high price for top kit.

It's a self-build kit I want, not a ready-made car.

Can anyone with experience point me in right direction please?
