Hi guys

My current 'bonus rate' ISA with Lloyds is coming to an end, and as such the interest rate is pretty crap (.5%).

With my father's work I can get a fixed 2% ISA which allows transfer in, withdrawal with no fee and only a £25 p/week minimum deposit.

Is there anything out there that can better it? I need access to it 24/7 so online would be better.

Thanks!!

One year fix ?

Thats a pretty good deal from what I can see. The only way you will get more is be an existing customer of a bank/building society etc from a first glance at current deals.

Yes 1 year fixed. It is rather good, I agree.

I was also looking at new customer deals but cant seem to find anything to better it? Not all allow tranfers in either.

It's tragic really; 2% doesn't even keep up with inflation.

This. Its grim.

Even putting in £20k plus the difference between the worst and best rates is only going to buy you a decent night out !

why not look to a stocks & shares isa with short term corpo bonds?
5% easy. hold to maturity or sell on secondary often with capital gain.

no need to accept a fisting..

I cashed in my 0.5pc First Direct Isa and put it in Santander 123 account paying 3pc for £1k- £20k. Only strings are you have to pay in £500 a month and set up at least two Direct Debits. After tax it still beats a cash ISA
