I've worked in retail credit risk modelling for several large banks for several years and I'm getting itchy feet. The role involves a mixture of data investigations using statistical software, building models to predict customer behaviour (e.g. scorecards) and econometrics.

I definitely wouldn't miss working for a bank (politics) but would like to continue in a quantitative role. I only stumbled across risk modelling (decision science) after graduating, and I'm sure there must be other similar careers that are not well known.

Any suggestions?

I work for an energy supplier and we're big into credit risk modelling. I know that some of the other suppliers are building there capability I'm this area, it's getting more and more important given the economy and the regulator makin it hard to cut non payers off. Echo the last person as well, customer insight is big these days. And there's the likes of experian, Equis and other big data houses.

Pharmacoeconomics- cost-effectiveness modelling for health technology submissions, working for a consultancy, NICE or a pharmaceutical company. You will need to do a specific MSc though.
