Will the halogen lamps not draw more current then the filament bulb?
Not if they are the same wattage. Halogon lamps are filament bulbs anyway, they just have a small amount of iodine or bromine in the gas to generate a halogen cycle chemical reaction which redeposits evaporated tungsten back onto the filament allowing them to run hotter, brighter and longer.Rob.
