Anglesey (23rd Aug)
Discussion
Great couple of days ! Camped over Thursday and a great trackday yesterday. Met a few PH`ers which was a pleasant change. Usually, I get home then realise I never got to say Hi.
Apart from, ONE spin in the damp trying to keep up with a GT-R when I was on bald tyres. Doh..
CV Sheared, AGAIN
. Took out the wheelbearing at the same time. Took just under 2 hours to swap them over, so lost a load of tracktime after lunch. Hey ho, these things happen. As Andy pointed out, at least I could change it and get back on track rather than it being day over.
PBox corrupted the data, so that`s fekking annoying. File is there but unreadable.
Video is all forward facing, rear camera died and I moved the PBox from it`s usual position. That was a mistake, it is now dead centre of every bit of footage
Will get some photos up today
Oh, that driver of a Black Golf MK3. Walked out halfway through the briefing, then kicked off when they wouldn`t give him a briefing band. After a 2nd briefing, went out and caused the first red flag of the day by spinning on lap 2, spent the rest of the day moving over and not lifting when people wanted to pass. What a cock.

I had a fantastic day also. First time at Anglesey and I thought it was great.
New tyres have transformed the car..!
Great to meet so many people & PistonHeaders too
I have loads of video and a few pictures - I will see what I have got later.
170 miles on track and then a 4 hour drive home (with suspension still set hard) = day in front of the TV today

I liked the 911 GT3 that overtook on the sighting laps

Really good day out! Was really pleased with the 86, first time out in a RWD drive car, wasn't sure how it would behave. However it was bloomin brilliant. So much more fun than when I take my Accord Type-R.
Also gave a couple of passenger rides to some interested folks, which was repaid by a few laps in their ~400bhp Evo, brilliant.
Some great driving and good etiquette. I did see a few poor performers, funnily whilst Andy from Javelin was giving me instruction that Citroen ZX went past us, on a corner, on a red flag. *plonker*.

If only they'd get petrol on site Anglesey would be so much better imo
As long as it isn't like Oulton and ridiculously priced

Hopefully the showers will stay away and the red flags too.
After a couple of red flags, I didn`t need to queue to get on track at all !Almost bald Cups and a wet track.

+ somewhat optimistic entry speed in the wet =

What were you driving ?
the red m3 above, was sharing the driving with my friend John. Have you got any recommendations for track tires? we are going to get a spare set of wheels for dry track days. I think your son was trying to kill some ao48? But they just kept gripping and I was very impressed with ben's federal fz201'scrimbo said:

Was it you or John I was chatting to ?Yeah, Matt had run the A048`s down so there was hardly any tread left and they still gripped..
I like the Kumho V70`s, Direzza DZ03`s are great and I`m hearing good things about the FZ201`s, they seem to appear particularly well. To be honest, if you are going from a road tyre to an `R` type, you`ll notice a pretty big increase in dry weather performance anyway, so I`d let price have a pretty big effect on my choice, at least for the first set of R tyres.
I run part-worn Pilot Sport Cups on the Golf, they grip well but I find them awful in damp conditions and they don`t seem as progressive when they start to `let go` compared to other R tyres I`ve used.
