On Monday 26th August BBC Radio 2 and 6Music are doing various shows to mark the 40th anniversary of Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon.
Schedule appears to be :
Radio 2 :
20:00 - 22:00 : To mark the 40th anniversary of the iconic album Dark Side of the Moon, Tom Robinson invites listeners to compile the Ultimate Pink Floyd Playlist.
22:00 - 23:00 : Darkside : A new drama by Sir Tom Stoppard to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon.
23:00 - 00:00 : Richard Allinson and Steve Levine look at the work of Pink Floyd with access to original multitrack recordings and contributions from David Gilmour, Nick Mason, Joe Boyd and others.

4am-5am : Classic Albums : David Gilmour talks to Roger Scott about Pink Floyd's 1973 album Dark Side of the Moon.
19:00 - 20:00 : Mark Radcliffe explores the life and legacy of Pink Floyd's Syd Barrett - one of the lost souls of British rock music.
20:00 - 22:00 : To mark the 40th anniversary of the iconic album Dark Side of the Moon, Tom Robinson invites listeners to compile the Ultimate Pink Floyd Playlist.
22:00 - 00:00 : Gideon Coe presents a Pink Floyd Special featuring live material and rare album cuts.

These is also some sort of extended loop animation to go along with it that will be on the 'Red Button' while the broadcast is on.
Why do they have to have different shows at the same time over the 2 stations. 8-10pm is the same show on both stations. 10pm-midnight are different shows.

Listening to the 2 hour special now presented by Tom Robinson - as a long time fan of the band it is refreshing to hear a programme of music 'linked' to the band (no matter how tenuous) rather than a load of the usual favourites.
The Tom Stoppard play sounds intriguing and no idea what to expect - hopefully it will be a bit quirky, unusual and certainly not run of the mill I.e a perfect complement to Pink Floyd's musical legacy.

Currently listening to the Radio 2 show "The Producers" which goes through the original recording tracks and intermediate mixes. Fascinating stuff for those of us into engineering, music, or Pink Floyd. Right down to the individual instrument level.
