Graphic on Golden Sq in Soho is a must if you like gin... Over 180 types of gin if I'm not mistaken.

Also Aqua on Argyll St has a nice roof terrace overlooking Regent St.

Also heard good things about Radio Rooftop Bar. Unfortunately got turned away because we were five minutes after the point when they turn into a "reservations only" bar, so unable to give first hand feedback.

Experimental Cocktail Bar in Chinatown is supposed to be the dog's danglies.

If you like wine/cheese/baguettes then Gordon's Wine Bar by Charing Cross Station is very good. Wines are super value.

Me and the missus stayed at the ME a couple of months ago - the bar is cool (actually, the whole hotel is - the reception is somehting else) worth it for 1 drink just for the view and a sit outside, don't know if I would stay there the whole night - bit "trendy" for my tastes.

The best thing about it was turning people away - we swanned in and went up in the residents lift.

Likewise. Views are great, service by the barman was somewhat slow. Hotel is quite something to say the least. Quite a mixture of people in the bar, some people were trying that bit to hard and trying to punch above their weight.

Depends where you are but if you are ever in whitechapel (chithole), there is a small little indie type bar opposite the mosque called Indo, which serves the best authentic Italian pizza's I've ever had and only for £8.

authentic italian pizza? Some of the worst pizzas I have ever had were in Italy!

Bit different, bit gimmicky I suppose, but once you're in they do some great cocktails with none of the pretence you get at the door (and distinctly average food, but it's a bar so who cares?) ... Evans & Peel Detective Agency in Earls Court.

Callooh Callay in Shoreditich is quite nice for cocktails, so is 69 Colebrook row, Islington way. If you want a mental choice of beers / ales / ciders, go for the white horse in Parson's green, or the Earl of Essex (near-ish to Angel tube station). Bubbledogs is good (down Charlotte street) if you like hotdogs and Champagne. I like Mark's bar (below HIX near Piccadilly circus) It used to be an ice cream parlour, and still has a chilled surface at the bar. Just round the corner from there (back towards Picadilly circus), is Bar Americain (below Zedel's brasserie), a sort of 1950's US aviation themed cocktail place.

Excellent, used to work 30 secs from PC but never heard of these places and always hard to find somewhere decent/non-touristy for drinks in the area. Thanks for the info.
