My First Car! 18 Year old with a 1999 SAAB 9-3 2.2 TID :D

I have finally gotten round to taking some pictures of my first car, after a good polish.
So far in the four weeks of ownership I have spent just over £200 putting her right, first off with the replacement of the abs rings and then today on a new battery, but I am hopeful I should not have any more problems for the time being as it is an extremely clean car.
Only 93,000 miles, which for a diesel SAAB, is hardly anything. Here are the pictures
And for anyone wondering, the car was bought for £600, found it at the back of a dealership covered in crap, apparently it had only been there a 'day or two'.
As for insurance as some of you might have guessed I do have a box fitted, but unlike most it has no curfews (I can drive it any time of day) and I drive just as I would without it and so far not had one email from them telling me to slow down.. (

The insurer is called My Policy, part of Aviva. It gives you a 65% discount off regular quotes just for having the box, without it I would of had to pay £3500. Would strongly recommend it!

No 18 year old would listen to radio 2I wanted a really unique first car, it was between this, a Rover 75 or a MG ZT, the SAAB won because it was the closest and the cheapest.And I find Radio 2 a lot easier and A LOT more interesting to listen to then say, Radio 1 or whatever other people my age normally listen to.

Compared to a 1.1 Saxo, Fiesta or such like I think I'd much rather have a turbo diesel as a first car......talking from experience, I endured a Metro for 12 months, well I say endured it was a first car so I still loved it and have a soft spot for them now.What's the stereo by the way? Look much better than the standard Saab stuff! Any idea if it would fit in a Saab 9-3?
Great choice by the way, with an updated set of Saab wheels that would like great for a first car!
Edit: Ditch the tow bar. Listening to Radio 2 at 18 is one thing, towing a caravan/trailer whilst doing it is quite another

Experience petrol power first? Wouldnt quite agree with this. Id much prefer a torqy diesel.I wish I had this car when I was 18. It looks really clean and the interior is spotless. I had that same Alpine stereo in my MK4 Golf a few years ago and thought it was great.
I owned a 9-5 Aero Estate a few years ago and it was a great car with the comfiest seats I have ever had the pleasure of sitting in. If you can keep the car totally standard just improving a few things like the side indicators to match the front ones and a new front bonnet badge and there is no reason why you can't get at least the amount and more back when you go to sell it.
Its nice to hear that you are enjoying the black box it must be like having your mum sitting in the passenger seat telling you where all the speed cameras are and when the next corner is coming up.
