Diary of a new GT2 owner

Well corporate days at Palmer sport and getting the Porsche bug under your skin is getting a little expensive. I've just put down a deposit on the 996GT2 at 991v. I first saw a speed yellow GT2 in Cape Town a few years ago and was blown away by its looks. Porsche are extremely clever in their design and the 996 shape is growing old beautifully and to me the shape is truly taking on a classic curve and the GT versions stand out. Having spent the last 8 months with the GT3 the driving pleasure has been immense. Unless you have driven a GT3 I don't know if you can explain it. I rant on about it a fair bit on the other board "Diary of a new GT3 owner". I do not know what the later version are like to drive but I love the analogue nature of the earlier version and it's simplicity. It is definitely not the fastest but who cares when you have that feeling. To keep the GT3 company its going to have a fat friend with a big mouth. A beautiful beautiful GT2.
I am extremely lucky and am looking forward like a child at Christmas to exploring more parts of the UK and Europe with my fat friend.
Again I have used Tom at 911v who must be close as having his own fan club by now as he is talked about so much on here. To add to his popularity ratings he is an absolute star.
It is true what they say that you get that Porsche itch and you just have to scratch it. Looking forward to a lot of fun miles ahead......

Cheers Crimp all credit to you, you looked after her well she looks absolutely stunning can not wait to get behind the wheel. Even my wife said "that looks really nice" and believe me that is progress.
quite a different look to the Mk1 and I am loving the 996 lines simply stunning. Like the Mk1 it is understated for what it is. I am an excited little boy...........whoop whoop!!!

I look after all my 911's its an obsession if i'm perfectly honest with myself, lots of polishing and detailing but it pays off long-term and people know my cars are spot on.
That GT2 is a nice example and should have sold a long time ago IMO, its one of the better ones and i've seen and i've viewed a few.
Interesting history/provenance & previous owners, don't forget to warm the tyres before giving it some beans though, the fecker warned me on numerous occasions

it is a stunning car. Part of the reason I went for it is that I have been looking and it was difficult to find a car in as good a condition. It is difficult to fault. Not that I am prejudice in any way.
It's like your first bike, remote control car nothing comes close. I am yet to get my finger nails dirty with it. But for my poster room. Sad as it may be I have pictures of my GT3 framed and I think the GT2 will join them.
I have spent a fair bit of time around Ferrari's, Astons and other amazing machines but I drawn away at the body work on a Porsche. This car is stunning. Happy happy fellow.

Congratulations. I've seen that car down there a number of times and its in truly stunning condition.
You have also offered a simple and perfect answer to perhaps the biggest questions for amongst long term Porsche fans and certainly one I have asked. "Should I have a GT2 or GT3.!
I did it in sequence, but parallel is clearly the preferred choices
