Hi chaps

My V12V may be developing a temperature problem. It seems to be over reading the external temperature and also insists on blowing warm air in to the cabin.. Admittedly I've only noticed this when in slow moving traffic. I don't recall it doing this previously... But haven't used it much in hot weather recently.

Any thoughts gratefully received. (3 year service coming up so want get fixed under warranty if its a problem)

Hi Rich,
In warm weather the OAT guage is notorious for over-reading as the sensor is in/near the engine bay I think. As for the aircon, it might need regassing. Not generally covered under warranty. Mine was blowing very hot air at me for some time after some work undertaken by a main dealer - turned out they had blown the fuse on the aircon. Worth a check?

On my V8 the outside temperature sender has had to be replaced twice since new once under warranty second time just after dealer warranty ended. Apparently it is quite common, the symptoms were indicated high temperatures but even standing still on the drive from cold. Occasionally it would show the outside temperature as being nearly 70 degrees, a tad warm for the north east i thought. The part is around £12 to buy and an easy fit toward the front of the engine bay. Warranty still on yours though.

Thanks guys. I didn't have the aircon on.... I guess it may just be pulling in hot air from the engine vents.

I ve got a trip to Cambridge tomorrow so will see what happens enroute.

Thanks again.
