Discussion
Megasquirt coder Phil Ringwood has created a controller that allows variable assistance according to speed:

Problem with the corsa unit is that it isn't really very powerful. Big fat tyres, on a high ratio rack and a car running lots of castor will probably give it a bit of a work out! I guess it's better than no PAS however ;-)
Not really sure how many fingers you want to use whilst parking, but I have 235's on the front and my 68yr old Mother can turn the wheel with ease when the Corsa unit is giving maximum assistance, she cant without itthanks

Hi
The problem is not with the EPS column and motor but with the controller, most of the kit car and other conversions have had to use makeshift aftermarket controller units that don't work very well, I got a controller from ebay, it was supposed to adjust the steering sensitivity from a knob, did not do the job.
Its nice to see someone who has put the time and effort into sorting this out, I for one will be buying one of these units asap.
