I'm near North Walsham.

I spent some time in Edinburgh and they had a monthly get together with food and/or drinks. Probably a maximum of around a dozen of us but it worked really well.

I can't think of any nice bars in the area but the format for us was a few drinks, a quiet bar, lots of chat about cars, and do it all on a weekday so it doesn't just end up as one big piss-up. (piss-ups were arranged separately )

Thanks for everyone's replies. I have only just returned from holiday. Perhaps it might be an idea to get together sometime soon. North Walsham might be good as it seems to be central for those who have responded.

It might be an idea to have a Facebook group "PHNN social" or similar to organise things if we want something fairly regular? Though I'm not sure how many of us use FB or Google.

Fair point, like I said, not sure how many people use either.

Again, from my times frequenting the Scotland forum we had an "Edinlushers" Facebook group. This was pretty much a social group to organise drinks/curries etc in Edinburgh. For those that didn't use facebook, the events were announced on here with a prefix to the topic title.

I.e. if I wanted to organise a few drinks in north walsham I'd start a thread with the title "[PHNN]North Walsham drinks 05/09/13".

All local social events are then easily recognisable by the prefix [PHNN].
