Hi all - does anyone know whether the doors should automatically unlock on a Vantage once the ignition key is pulled out? They lock once the car gets to 5mph but I wondered about unlocking,

Thanks

No - they only unlock when you pull the handle to get out

So you have to pull the handle twice to unlock?

Can that not be reprogrammed? I hate the feeling of being locked-in and its a pain having 2 goes at getting out.

Luckily not an issue on a DB9.

Perhaps later DB9s auto unlock. On my 04 model two pulls of the door release or pressing the unlock button on the center console gets the door open. I belive It mentions in the handbook that in the event of an accident the doors automaticaly unlock. smile

You can deactivate auto locking in the car settings menu.

it needs adjusting if it needs two pulls - one should do it. Probably the cable is too loose. You can press the unlock button on the centre console first which will make it one pull.

Mine did this - the dealer said it shouldn't

My owner's manual says if you have selected the door locking option then you need to pull it twice.

I may well have to stand corrected in that case.

However, when in for something else, the dealer did opine that it should open on one pull (I'm sure it did when I bought it)

I have this selected on my car and I have to do the same.
