Not a Portfolio, but spec makes no difference. I drive a new 3.0D and get circa 33mpg out of mine commuting in London.I use the paddles every time I drive it so that I can short change as and when I see fit but also very quickly drop a couple of cogs to nip around too.
I have Portfolio 3.0d S average if careful 33mpg but easy to get lower-had ordinary 3.0 d for a week and easily 5mpg better-this always happens with loan car and I do not understand why but 3.o S very quick and maybe just easier to drive quicker-good car though but if I bought another would buy 3.0
If it's a 2010 model you're after, why not consider the 3.0 petrol? You should be able to find a low mileage one for way below £20k.
It'll cost several thousand pounds less to buy, and is more suited to town driving than the diesel (no DPF).
Unless you are doing considerable mileage, you'll never make up the difference in purchase price against the better fuel economy from the diesel version.
Oh, and the petrols are chain, btw
