Does the starter spin? i.e is it just the fuel that's the problem as the immobiliser has two circuits fuel & starter one may still be working?

Carl Baker is replacing everything with an up to date system. He works out of Dan Taylor TVR. Carl lives in France now but comes over for periods where he just does alarm work pretty much non-stop for a period then goes back home.
Try emailing him via http://www.tvruk.tv/

Yes that seems the way forward. Carl is doing mine as we speak.
I have a feeling he is fully booked for this trip so you need to get on the waiting list for his next trip!

All back now from Carl Baker working on the Chim. Alarm ,sensors, immobiliser all replaced with new, modern versions, new fobs with key integrated into it. Added Boot release from fob, hot start mod. Dan Taylor changed the battery and starter and it now spins like a spitfire's prop rather than struggling round.
Very reasonable price and money well spent IMO a lot of people forget these alarm systems are up to 15 years and more old now and don't last forever. After seeing this install done first hand I'm so glad I didn't just buy cheap replacements of what was already there (15 year old tech) and went down the full upgrade route recommended by Carl.
Cannot recommend Carl and Dan enough. All this done in one day...
