width and normal garage's

Looking to buy my first tvr (chim) over the next couple of months, together with a new house, and we're only looking at places with a garage.

How wide are chims with (including mirrors) and will they fit ok into most garages are have people found problems with them fitting throught the opening in the past ?

Am looking at a property tomorrow and will take my tape meassure with me

Hello Karim,

The Chimaera is 1865mm wide at the mirrors. You will need about another 30cm from this to open the door to get out, slightly less if you are bendy

Let me know when you are able to look seriously and I'll bring my 450 down to see you again. It may have to go to a new home in the next couple of months and you would be a good guardian for it.

They are fairly ditty little cars... the primary issue I think you will have is wanting a much bigger garage so you can do some real work on her!

Mine fits into the new-build garage reasonably well, but I have glued carpet tiles to the walls where the doors open as a safety method. I also find it is easier to get in an out of the car if the roof panel is removed as I'm far from the most lithe of people...

Cheers guys. Gonna look out our first house on saterday, and will take the tapemeassure to meassure the garage first whilst the misses looks at the other, less important bits of the house like the lounge and kitchen and stuff

Yeah no problem with a normal garage (mine is 6' 7" wide at the doors). Will post a pic when not on the phone.
