Injectors & Stuff

Just a quick one on Injectors.

Im in the process of sourcing some spare Injectors for the 400SE. am I correct in assuming that any Rover V8 Green-top Injector will be compatible ?

Also, what are my options with regard to ignition coils / distributer etc?
Is it viable to replace with solid state and multiple coil packs or just stick with the single coil, new rotor arm and a good set of plugs / leads ?

I have a brand new Mallory set up (only 300 miles approx.) I changed to Megasquirt.

Depends if you have Flapper or hot wire, the injectors are physically and electrically different.

You can only fit coil packs with some form of ignition ECU, I'm running Megajolt but OMEX and CanEMS can supply ignition only ECU's but to be honest there is not a lot difference in the ECU cost between ignition only and full engine management.

I fitted Megajolt "because I could" and yes it did improve low speed drivability, give's me hard and soft cut rev limiter's and some fancy shift lights (and no more ignition amp..) but to buy the equivalent system ( I built mine for a kit ) I would say it's not worth the cost of a plug and play system if your dizzy is working OK !

If you are on hotwire. Vauxhall Vectra / Omega injectors will fit straight in. gm part No. 90501588 Plentiful supply and cheap as chips. Also have a better spray pattern. fuel pressure can be upped with them if you are needing more fuel where as you cant up the pressure with the standard ones.

Thats interesting to know. Ive just picked up 8x green top Bosch Injectors for £5 !!... Might keep an eye open for the Vauxhall ones too.

Im not going silly, 72mm Trumpets / inlet manifold, throttle body planned for the winter and thats it.
