Wanting excellent picture TV, not interested in sound/ wifi

I am looking for a 40ish" (not less than 37") TV that has an excellent picture, I am not interested in sound (got Bose Surround) or Wifi (got Apple TV, iPad, MacBook, PS3 etc), or 3D.

What would you recommend? Could be second hand or a refurbished.

Budget - £500.

God! where have you been hiding! it was a fantastic set 10 years ago! but things have moved on a bit!

Panasonics 42E6 will do the job, it's a "smart" set but you don't have to use it....

I believe this is what I have, if so its a non HD CRT 36 inch TV set.

Tis a good picture for its age, but there's plenty of panels about that trump it

Has to be flat panel and full HD or I would have bought a B&O Avant.
