I'm now on my fourth key barrel in a very short period of time. When a new barrel is fitted they are never easy to turn and always break just inside the ignition switch, which has also been replaced.
Does anyone have any ideas or has anyone come across this before??
It sounds daft but I've a few customers who have either lots of keys or bloody great key rings and the additional weight just screws up the barrel over time.
I wish it was that easy.... last one was fitted about two months ago and the car has only been started about 12 times since then. I just have the key and the alarm fob so no extra weight there. I was wondering if the steering column/lock might be bent??
