I'm off to France tomorrow in the Cerb for a few days.

We have the Dover to Calais ferry booked, but that's it. Where we are going once we hit Calais, I don't know yet.

The great thing is, after racking our brains about where to go this week, it was my wife who suggested taking the Cerb to France. She'd never have agreed if I'd come up with that plan!

I'm looking forward to those traffic and speed camera free N roads. Marvellous.

Wish me luck!

Make sure you leave any camera detection devices at home, as the French police get upset to the tune of 750 (or 900?) euro and confiscation!

Have fun, sounds like you could have a great adventure... Whenever I suggest anything like that to my wife, the first thing she says is we are NOT taking your car

Just to report back from my time in France with the Cerb. We covered about 800 miles in total, to and from Reims, and assorted touring around whilst there.

For the journey there and back we stuck to autoroute. How wonderful they are - super smooth surfaces and lighly trafficked. We were able to sustain some good speeds as the weather was dry and mild. I'm pleased to report that the car performed faultlessly.

We visited the old Grand Prix stands at Reims. I recommend it - you can walk around the old stands and garages - quite atmospheric.

We didn't even see any roadworks over the 4 days, let alone be held up. Immediately we exited the ferry at Dover, we were held in a jam. Back to earth with a bump!
