Was there in aug, not a bad cct if your using the new wing , first bend is fast , dab the brake and floor it ! next bend easy to spin off or over cook , nice little light jump b4 easy right onto straight . wish I was going again now.

I was in the grey M3. It was my first time there and had a great day, a fair few red flags though. Managed a 1:21, don't think I could have got into the teens.

How did your Puma end up in the gravel trap?

Great day!!!!

My first time on that track, what an amazing place!! I never realised quite how big s'stone was..

Some really nice cars and driving - saw the puma and was it a grey e46 m3?

Met a few people folk there - black Scooby driver, blue mx5 race car and Gt40, everyone seemed to be having a great timesmile

Cheers,

Sam (Old Nissan Skyline)

Yep, mine was the grey e46 m3. I'm assuming yours was the R32... You can past when my mate was driving, certainly looked very planted. It's a shame I was never out at the same time as you, I could have showed you what's what.

Sure is a great facility, will definitely be going back.

The GT40 that was going round, was it white with stripes down the middle? I saw a GT40 go round the International Circuit on Saturday, looked cracking.

Yeah I was in the R32 smile

There were a lot of e46 M3's - good to see.. Did yours have uprated front brakes?

I took advantage of the free instruction and it really helped me finding the lines.. Still missed most of them lol... Really great having the tuition..

I don't know what a good lap time is on that track.. I was enjoying myself and trying to learn the track but timed this lap from the video and it did 1;17. Def not a quick lap, many mistakes, bad lines, oversteer etc and on worn federal rs-r's (excuses)... So much fun though!!

Will definitely be making the effort to go there more oftensmile

Wow, I could have spent another 6 hours going round and not get a 1.17! Worn RSRs must be quicker than worn Contisports wink

I've got APs all round and coilovers. Think I'll treat myself to a set of 18s and sticky tyres soon, I can't be having old Datsuns going that much quicker than me. I'm taking our E46 M3 track weapon to Snetterton on the 12th Oct for its first outing, would be interesting to see how it fairs against your R32.

Nice spec... I also have an E46 M3 and would love to get some decent brakes like yours... I recently took it to the Ring and the brakes were the only thing that slowed it down- lol ... and of course the driver!
It's funny but the old and worn pilot sports on the BMW felt like they had more grip than the syline with the federals..
I just got a set of michekin super sports fitted and am probably going to be just as impressedsmile
You don't have to do much to the e46's to make them a good track car from what I've seen..
Lol - A good set of tyres and a bit less weight would soon have you going quicker than the old Datsun;)

The stock brakes are actually not that bad with decent pads and fluid, but I had the chance to buy the APs at a really good price and couldn't resist. Every time I buy something for the car, I tell myself I'm not doing any more... 18s and decent tyres will definitely be the last thing! Possibly some LCAs too, maybe a more aggressive geo setup... It just goes on forever! As it's my daily, I can't really strip it.

As for your M3 having more grip than the R32, no chance! There's no way I could have carried your speed through the first corner and kept your line. Got any other TDs booked?

lol - I know what you mean.. My E46 is my 'normal' car, love it as it is but do start thinking about how good it's be with good brakes or less weight.. I've used the standard brakes on track a few times and made them last but have never really 'used' them.. I'm sure they'd be ok for a few sessions but then they's warp or crack.. The AP's on my SKyline which is similar weight but much faster did 25+ track days before they needed replacing. False economy using the standard stuff and not as good..

I'm going to Brands tomorrowsmile

Can't wait!!!!!

Hoping to get a 54 sec lap on the federals... wish me luck - I'll need it!!! smile
