Wire missing?

Hi,

Investigating why my air con is not working, I've found that the compresser is not connected to the wiring loom. Thanks to very helpfull jetstream they said the wires going to the alternater should have a cable that branches off to the compresser! It's not there! Any ideas or reasons why it's been disconnected, it had a new alternater in 2011 by plans Motorsport,
