Porsche 968 in Harrogate

Hi, is anyone of you close to Harrogate and had a look at the car below.

I am very interested in the car but currently living in Germany so it will be quite a trip to go there. The guy at Pure Lotus seems to be trustworthy so I have a good feeling about it in general.
Anyhow any feedback from a "buyer's eye" would be great. If the deal is successful valuable feedback will attract a bottle of red ;-)

thanks AGTLAW! If you don't mind (and as it is so close to you) it would be great if you could have a brief look.
There is nothing really specific (968 are very robust) I am interested in besides very obvious accident damage (maybe poorly repaired) and the overall appearance (i.e. does the interior reflect the quoted mileage). They said the important belt change was done and there is an invoice about it.
Not sure if I want to go the the 968 forum as the previous owner could be on there with a biased view about the car. thanks for pointing it out anyhow!

The tensioner pads wears, which leads to the chain wearing. This in turn causes the sprockets on the camshafts to wear. When this happens replacement of the cams is the only option and it is very expensive.
Clutches arent as expensive labourwise as 944s, but this means that the rear seal is less likely to have been changed too.
Sills are going to corrode on 968s soon like theyre corroding on 944s now, so I would pay as much attention to the inside sill area on a 968 as I would on a 944.

Brand new? Thats cheap. Ive seen pay approaching double for S2 cams! Im not really familiar with the transaxle on the 968. My car was new and it was still silent when the car was sold. 944s are different but they can scream from new!
Do you need special Porsche tools to replace the bearings, like for a 944 transaxle, meaning that its a dealer only job?

Yes - brand new - If I remember correctly (big if) the cams were just over 300 each from Porsche dealer.Do you need special Porsche tools to replace the bearings, like for a 944 transaxle, meaning that its a dealer only job?
Gearbox rebuild was done by an inde over in Cumbria - and thanks for reminding me - OP - Dual Mass Flywheel can be looked at while they're doing pinion bearing, or clutch etc.
