Anyone else experienced any odd brief hesitancy in car when accelerating whilst using this stuff? Would be good to know if the cars sometime do this anyway or not. Wasn't a big thing but a small stutter up near 5k rpm or so. Car in Monday anyway and mentioned it so they can plug in the diagnostic regardless

I think you drive a DB9.2 as do I. I use Shell V-power, never missed a beat yet, although my miles driven is still below 1000. smile

Lots of chat on various car forums about the V Power fuel not working well with certain cars.

I don't run it on the Aston either.

Bugger, I just filled up with it, because of a comment Bravo73 made about its' cleaning properties in a different thread.

Saying that though, super unleaded (Nitro+ and Ultimate etc) are also meant to contain detergents and the like which should help keep the engine internals in a better state.
[idea best I go out for a long blat this evening to use it all up - just in case !!!]

The cannot be anything wrong with the petrol because, 'You can be sure of Shell'.

You would never get a petroleum chemist to criticise an employer's product, but it makes one wonder whether the petrol might be the same as before.

Could the 'improvement' be the work of the marketing department?

"What about Nitro - the focus group said that sounds really powerful. A very good name. Makes me think of nitroglycerin."

Sales Director - "You can do better than that".

"Well we could call it V Power Nitro Plus."

Sales Director - "Brilliant, and make all the filling station till staff look like they work for Ferrari. Oh and lets hope no one asks what the V stands for. I forget how we came up with that".

wink

I normally put ordinary shell unleaded then v power in every other tank, so 50/50.
Never had any issues. I don't really want to put supermarket fuel in though.

We have Shell at our local Waitrose and I always fuel up with V Power Nitro+ and have never had a problem.thumbup

I was advised when I purchased my car, by the dealer, to use normal unleaded and then ever 9 or 10 tanks use a tank full of V Power Nitro+. However, I started to get lots of the "oxygen sensor" read outs, so switched to V Power Nitro+ all the time and a reset of sensor and touch wood no more problems.

That last paragraph may start a heated debate about this fuel and normal unleaded and possible causes of sensor problems etc. biglaugh
