I'm not an Aston owner and probably won't be quite as quickly as I'd like. But can you tell me, is this one of your pics:

The reason for asking is, I've been using that as a desktop pic as I think the mods carried out look really good - just enough in terms of an 'edgier' attitude without being overdone. If it's yours, how would you feel about listing the visual mods carried out to it?

I think I saw elsewhere here on the AM section that you might be selling - for anyone else about to suggest, this is in no way linked as some exposure for a (possibly) soon to be sold car - I'm just interested in what's been done.

Hope you don't mind the enquiry...!

Actually, another question you might be able to answer - these cylinder deactivation management systems - I think I read about another V8V owner who fitted one. Any ideas who that might have been?

I'm trying to build up a picture of the benefits of a 4.3 with the BR mods as per yours along with a cylinder deactivation system to give a 'wide band' capability interms of fuel economy through to full performance.

Any ideas what a cylinder deactivation system would cost to install by any chance?

The only mention I recall seeing of cylinder deactivation was Yeti's monster where he's having his V12 turned into a Vish8

"cylinder deactivation" - what is all that about on a V8!!!

The car is already missing 4 cylinders, why on earth would you wish to deactivate more of them? Are you trying to convert a Vantage into a Cygnut? eek

Oh, I see - it would definitely make sense on a V12 - thanks for the link.

I know, I spent a confusing half hour rummaging through your previous posts trying to find your mod list!

Because after periods of automagic and seamless deactivation/reactivation, the only thing you'd eventually notice would be a pleasant surprise as you glance down at the fuel gauge. But that's clearly of zero concern for you, owning a V12V...!

Probably not going to be worth doing, too complex for a one-off build - because of the exotic components used in my build, my engine will run much leaner than a standard V12, which needs excess fuel to cool it.

So it'll be a about a third more economical at a guess. A nice range extender!

Oh I see, clearly not an off the shelf conversion but it sounds like the benefits will be significant; I look forward to reading more.

Indeed! If I glance down at the fuel computer and I am getting more than 10mpg then I know I am not driving it hard enough! biggrin
