I'm new here, from Switzerland, and the owner of a year 2000 Cerbera 4.5 left hand driven.
I went out for a ride this afternoon in the black forest and noticed a almost complete loss of oil pressure in left curves. As soon as the car kept going straight again the pressure came back to normal. I didn't try to do a left circle because I was afraid to damage the engine. There's enough oil and otherwise the car performes normally. I know about some possible reasons (kinked oil pipe, bad oil pump etc.) but maybe there's something special and typical I don't know about.

Mine does this when the oils low, I tend to keep it about 5mm above maximum on the dipstick.

From what I have heard the dipsticks aren't that accurate ??

Many of us do Spa, and Pouhon is the ultimate lefthander. I don't remember anyone having oil pressure issues. Are you an AJP8 or a Speed6?

There is a known problem with the capillary action in the dipstick pipe.
To get a true, level measure, take the dipstick out, overnight, and measure the next day. I have found this to be more accurate.

Also, in my experience, it is almost impossible to adversely affect the motor by over-filling (as opposed to the reverse). She just blows it straight back out until she feels comfortable.

P.S. Where are you in Switzerland ? I fancy an end-of-year dash to the mountains drivinglaugh

Thanks everybody. Obviously there is a big difference between cold and hot engine: about one and half liters. So there really wasn't enough oil.
I will change the oil and find out if the bearings were damaged when I look for metal rub off.

I dont think the hot v cold reading is that different (on an AJP). The difficulty is getting a good reading on the dipstick. To measure a hot engine you will likely struggle more.
