Hi folks,

I've just been under my recently purchased 98 450 tidying up some minor flaky bits on the chassis and noticed my front disks aren't wearing evenly, the outboard faces of the disks are fine, the inboard faces are not cleaned up over the full braking surface. The very inner and outer areas are corroded while the section between these sections is clean.

Any ideas, I'm wondering if the callipers are a little sticky or partially seized, I'm assuming they are single piston floating type callipers although I cant find much detail in the "bible".

Some advice would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Almost certainly lack of use the inner faces generally suffer 1st (poorer environment) worth removing the caliper from the carrier just to make sure the pads are moving freely in the carrier tracks though wink then just use the car more frequently cool

Cheers for the reply, I'll pull the callipers and pads apart when I get around to it, only had it a month and done about 500 miles so I'm doing my best to use it as much as poss before the winter comes.
